General Project Description

Foothill Transit is soliciting bids from qualified firms for the provision and installation of new cabling infrastructure. This public works project involves upgrading cabling systems, including CAT6 copper and multimode fiber, at its Arcadia Irwindale and Pomona Operation and Maintenance Facilities. The scope includes providing and installing low voltage cabling, Category 6 cabling, fiber backbones, associated cable conveyance (J-Hooks, conduit), patch panels, and equipment racks. The contractor is responsible for field verification, cable certification, labeling per EIA/TIA standards, and coordination with Foothill Transit IT. Materials specified include General Cable for CAT6 copper and Panduit net key connectivity.

Quantity: 63,000 Unit: LF Work Item: Provide and install Low Voltage (CAT6 copper) cabling within Pomona Facility. Specifications: route through accessible ceilings via J-Hooks, terminate on new 48-port patch panels, use General Cable CAT6 and Panduit net key connectivity, certified and labeled per EIA/TIA standards.
Quantity: As required Unit: LS Work Item: Provide and install fiber backbones. Specifications: 24 Strand Multi Mode Fiber (LC/LC) from Admin Tele Room A115 to Second Level IDF (201) in Arcadia Irwindale, from Maintenance Building MPOE to Administration Building, Wash Building, Fuel Building, and Warehouse (Arcadia Irwindale and Pomona), fiber certification and labeling per EIA/TIA standards.
Quantity: As required Unit: LS Work Item: Provide and install cable conveyance requirements (J-Hooks, sleeves, etc.) to support new cabling infrastructure.
Quantity: As required Unit: LS Work Item: Install new 48-port patch panels on existing racks, field coordinate exact mounting height.
Quantity: As required Unit: LS Work Item: Protect existing IDF equipment in place.
Quantity: As required Unit: LS Work Item: Conduct comprehensive field verification of all pathway locations prior to construction.
