General Project Description
The Fresno County Rural Transit Agency (FCRTA) is seeking a qualified consultant to conduct a Phase 2 Microgrid Study. This study aims to expand FCRTA's microgrid initiative by partnering with rural Fresno County school districts to install microgrids on their properties. These microgrids will provide charging infrastructure for FCRTA's zero-emissions bus fleet and school district fleets, while also serving as resilience hubs for power backup to critical infrastructure and emergency community shelters. The consultant will be responsible for existing conditions analysis, microgrid technology review, site selection, EV charging needs evaluation, site assessment and design, public outreach, advisory committee meetings, and the development of a draft and final study report with an implementation plan. The project involves strategic planning, feasibility analysis, stakeholder engagement, and technical recommendations for sustainable energy infrastructure in disadvantaged communities.

Specifications: Develop draft study report (based on community engagement, advisory committee, analysis), FCRTA review/comment, public comment period, revise and complete final study report including implementation plan, cost savings, funding sources, financing options.
