General Project Description

CalOptima is seeking bids from a California-licensed asbestos abatement contractor for a project at the vacant Hospitality Inn Motel at 7900 Garden Grove Blvd, Garden Grove, CA 92683. The work involves planning, securing necessary permits and approvals, establishing containment, and performing abatement, removal, and disposal of approximately 35 tons of asbestos-containing materials (ACM), predominantly from interior drywall (walls and ceilings), joint compound, and spray-on popcorn ceilings (acoustic ceiling materials). The scope also includes the removal of drywall attachments, application of encapsulants, proper hazardous waste transportation and disposal, and site demobilization. The project requires compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including prevailing wage laws and local noise ordinances. A general contractor must perform at least 20% of the value of the work with its own forces.
