General Project Description

The River Delta Unified School District is soliciting proposals for a multi-year contract for Telecommunications Service, specifically Lit Fiber Optic Ethernet Transport Services, which are Erate eligible. The project involves qualified contractors submitting bids for the installation and ongoing service of point-to-point or point-to-multi-point lit fiber optic Ethernet transport services. All equipment included will be owned and maintained by the awarded service provider, with no option for transfer of ownership. The district anticipates that all circuits will be eligible for Federal Erate and State CTF discounts, and special construction costs must be identified separately. The services are for various school and site locations within the district, supporting consolidation of remote site services (e.g., 10 remote sites between 500 Mbps up to 1 Gbps delivered to a collector circuit of 10Gbps at the host site). The system must support IEEE 802.1Q VLAN Tagging.
