General Project Description
This project involves the realignment of an existing irrigation pipeline at the intersection of SR-140 and SR-165 in Merced County, California. The scope encompasses comprehensive civil engineering and construction activities, including mobilization, demolition of existing infrastructure, site clearing and grubbing, extensive earthwork operations (excavation, fill, and compacted backfill), furnishing and installation of 42-inch rubber gasket reinforced concrete pipe (RCP), and 6'x6' irrigation boxes. Key components include specialized construction methods such as jack and bore crossings under Highway 140, open cut operations on Highway 165 for pipe installation, slurry filling abandoned pipes, replacement of existing fencing, installation of delivery gates, and connection to the existing irrigation system. Additionally, the project requires shoring, sheeting, and bracing for excavations, along with asphalt concrete pavement replacement, traffic control, public safety measures, strict adherence to water pollution control, and measures to protect San Joaquin Kit Fox habitat.
