General Project Description

This project involves the rehabilitation of streets within the southwest area of the City of Alhambra, encompassing asphalt and concrete work across nine base bid streets and two bid alternate streets, totaling approximately 14,350 linear feet. The scope includes grinding and milling of existing asphalt concrete pavement at various depths (1.5, 2, 4 inches), constructing asphalt-rubber aggregate membrane (ARAM) interlayers, laying asphalt rubberized hot mix (ARHM) overlays, and performing concrete work for curbs, gutters, cross gutters, alley intersections, access ramps, and sidewalks. It also involves adjusting existing manhole frames and covers, valves, resetting survey monuments, traffic striping (legends, limit lines, arrows, double-yellow centerlines, channelizing/turn lanes, continental crosswalks, raised blue hydrant markers), and replacing traffic loops. Ancillary work includes excavation, grading, protection of existing utilities, comprehensive traffic control, and installation of public improvement project signs. The project requires strict adherence to prevailing wage laws, environmental controls including a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), and a solid waste management and recycling plan for demolition materials.
