General Project Description

This project involves the replacement of modular classroom and bathroom buildings at the CAL FIRE Ione Training Center. The scope includes demolition of existing structures and utilities, extensive earthwork and grading, installation of new modular buildings on foundations with compacted aggregate base, construction of approximately 1,275 linear feet of new 12-inch diameter polyvinyl chloride (PVC) sanitary sewer line at depths of 6 to 10 feet below grade, and installation of associated underground utility infrastructure (electrical, water, etc.). The project also covers construction of asphalt and rigid Portland cement concrete (PCC) paved parking areas and exterior flatwork. Temporary erosion control measures, such as fiber rolls and gravel-filled sand bags, are required. Geotechnical investigations, topographic surveys, and CCTV inspections of sewer lines have been conducted and their recommendations are to be incorporated in design and construction. Project management, coordination, submittals (e.g., construction progress documentation, photographic records), and quality control/assurance services are integral to the project.
