General Project Description
The City of Mountain View is soliciting proposals for professional design services to update the existing traffic signal system at Moffett Boulevard and Central Avenue. The project involves major replacements and upgrades to bring the system to current standards, including the installation of a new eight-phase traffic signal system and equipment (pull boxes, poles, mast arms, conduits, service box, pedestrian and vehicle signal heads, push buttons, controller cabinet, video detection, emergency vehicle preemption, street name signs), removal of the existing traffic signal, restriping of Central Avenue and Moffett Boulevard, installation of high-visibility crosswalks and advance limit lines, curb ramp/curb and gutter/sidewalk/drainage modifications, installation/relocation of traffic signal cabinet, lighting improvements, relocation of streetlight poles, PG&E clearance coordination, storm drain relocation, and potential tree removal for signal visibility.
