General Project Description
The County of Riverside Emergency Management Department is seeking proposals from qualified firms to update its Multi-Jurisdictional Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP). The purpose of this project is to secure services to update the County's LHMP in compliance with Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) requirements under the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000, which is required every five years to maintain eligibility for Hazard Mitigation Assistance funds. The scope includes conducting a comprehensive risk assessment, developing a mitigation strategy, facilitating planning workshops and public outreach, and providing technical assistance for jurisdictional annexes to reduce long-term risks from natural and human-caused hazards. The consultant will also support the plan's finalization, review, and adoption to meet FEMA and California Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) requirements.
