San Diego City is seeking bids from qualified and interested contractors for the following project titled, Landscape Maintenance within Ocean View Hills Maintenance Assessment District (MAD), identified under Solicitation ID: 10090442-26-G. Work is to be performed near 1200 Third Ave suite 200, San Diego, CA 92101, USA in San Diego County.
General Project Description
The project involves providing complete landscape maintenance services and improvements within the Ocean View Hills Maintenance Assessment District (MAD). The scope includes routine landscape maintenance tasks such as irrigation, pruning, shaping and training of trees, shrubs, turf, and groundcover plants; fertilization; litter and weed control; pest and disease management; mowing, edging, renovation, and aeration; and sweeping. It also covers the installation, routine inspection, and maintenance of various improvements and City facilities like irrigation systems, plant material, planting areas, picnic and playground equipment, comfort stations, and community signs, with all necessary equipment, labor, and materials.

- Quantity: One (1) time Unit: Week Work Item: Irrigation Inspection: thorough inspection of all systems (including drip) for electronic operation and water distribution; complete and submit irrigation checklists.
- Quantity: Two (2) times Unit: Year Work Item: Pruning - Trees (Feb & Jul) for Medians Landscaped, Medians Hardscaped, Rights-of-Way, Slopes; Six (6) times per year for Pepper Trees. Maintain 8' clearance from street/sidewalk.
- Quantity: Four (4) times Unit: Year Work Item: Pruning - Shrubs and Groundcover (Apr 1 - Nov 30) for Medians Landscaped, Medians Hardscaped, Rights-of-Way, Slopes; Six (6) times per year for Open Space - Shrubs and Groundcover. Maintain natural appearance, prevent encroachment; shrubs no greater than 24" above curb, groundcover 12" above curb.
- Quantity: Four (4) times Unit: Year Work Item: Fertilization - Shrubs and Groundcover (Mar, May, Jul, Sep) for Medians Landscaped, Medians Hardscaped, Rights-of-Way, Slopes; Four (4) times per year for Open Space - Shrubs and Groundcover. Target 1 lb actual nitrogen per 1,000 SF.

- Quantity: As needed Unit: - Work Item: Turf Aeration: All turf areas by core removal to 2" depth per Service Frequencies.
- Quantity: - Unit: - Work Item: Mulch Application: Mulch all planter beds to minimum 2" depth (2" size untreated landfill mulch).
- Quantity: Periodically Unit: - Work Item: Decomposed Granite (DG) Maintenance: inspect and fill DG areas to maintain level surface, addressing ruts, holes, grooves, and depressions.
- Quantity: - Unit: - Work Item: Pest and Disease Control: Regular inspection for disease, insect, rodent infestation; implement approved control measures using qualified applicators.
- Quantity: - Unit: - Work Item: Facility Maintenance: Report damage/malfunctions within 24 hours. Maintain sidewalks, paved areas, railings, fencing in safe condition, free of debris and graffiti.
- Quantity: Periodically Unit: - Work Item: Storm Drain Cleaning: inspect and clean storm drains at contract sites; keep inlets/drains free of debris and sediment.
- Quantity: - Unit: - Work Item: Traffic Control: Comply with Caltrans Traffic Manual and City of San Diego Traffic Engineering Division requirements when blocking public ways.
