General Project Description

The City of San Mateo is seeking proposals from qualified engineering firms to provide design engineering services for the Laurelwood Park Pedestrian and Bike Path Replacement Project. The scope includes preparing 100% plans, specifications, and an engineer's estimate for the construction phase, as well as providing support during construction. The project specifically involves the replacement of existing asphalt pedestrian and bike paths and approximately 150-foot-long retaining walls (3-4 feet high) at Laurelwood Park, which have shown signs of cracking and fungal decay. Design work includes ADA compliance assessment for Shasta Drive access, geotechnical analysis integration, and structural engineering recommendations based on prior reports.
