General Project Description

This project involves the construction of the Laurelwood Transmission Line Extension, aimed at extending an existing 60 KV overhead transmission line to provide service to a new Laurelwood Substation. The scope includes the installation of two new structures (tubular steel monopoles supported on drilled concrete piers) to integrate with the existing transmission line and connect to the new substation. Key work items include the installation of new 715 kcmil ACCR "Stilt" conductors, transferring existing 954 kcmil AAC "Magnolia" conductors, site preparation including clearing and grubbing, restoration of landscaping and hardscape, traffic control, and adherence to environmental best management practices. The project also encompasses various allowances for standby time, archaeological support, and unanticipated underground and overhead line work.
