General Project Description
The City of Santa Clara Public Works Department seeks a qualified firm to provide comprehensive engineering design services, bidding and award support, and construction support for a Citywide Electric Vehicle Charging Installation Project. This initiative aims to expand the availability of electric vehicle chargers (EVCS) for both public and city-owned fleets, aligning with greenhouse gas emission reduction goals. The scope includes site assessments, utility coordination, geotechnical and environmental assessments, full multidisciplinary engineering design (architectural, civil, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, stormwater, low voltage, solar), permitting support, ADA compliance design, and structural assessments for EVCS integration. The selected consultant will be responsible for preparing construction bid documents (plans, specifications, and engineer's estimate), assisting with bidder inquiries and bid evaluations, and providing support throughout the construction and post-construction phases, under an agreement with a six-year term.
