General Project Description
The City of Santa Clara is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide engineering design services for the Benton Street Bikeway Project. The project involves preliminary engineering, preparation of construction documents (Plans, Specifications, & Estimates, PS&E) for public works construction bidding, bid and award phase support, and construction/post-construction support. Key improvements include roadway pavement rehabilitation and installation of Class II, IIB, IIIB, and IV bicycle facilities along Benton Street (between Dunford Way and Monroe Street) and Lincoln Street (between Harrison Street and Homestead Road). The scope also includes replacing existing pedestrian curb ramps with ADA-compliant ramps, modifying traffic signals to accommodate bicycle facilities, proposing sign modifications for new bikeways, pavement design, utility investigation (potholing) as an optional task, and extensive coordination with various agencies for permits and compliance. The consultant will be responsible for pavement analysis, preliminary project plans, full construction documents, bid support, construction support, and project closeout, including record drawings.
