General Project Description
The City of Santa Cruz Department of Public Works is soliciting proposals from qualified consultants for design, consulting, and engineering support services to rehabilitate existing Pump Station No. 1 (PS1) and design a new Soquel Pump Station (PS) on the west side of the San Lorenzo River. The project aims to improve the downtown storm drain and pump station network to mitigate flooding, particularly after major rain events. The scope of work includes preliminary hydraulic analysis, re-evaluating existing models, determining optimal pump station upgrades, developing biddable plans for both pump stations, and providing comprehensive design (30%, 50%, 90%, 100% completion) and project management services. Deliverables will include technical memos, basis of design reports, detailed design plans, specifications, construction schedules, and cost estimates. The design must comply with FEMA BRIC grant conditions, CEQA, Caltrans standards, and City regulations.
