General Project Description

This public works project involves the comprehensive roof rehabilitation of Operations and Storage Buildings at the Water Quality Control Plant, covering an area of approximately 25,000 square feet. The scope of work includes the removal of existing flat and concrete tile roofing, asbestos-containing roofing materials and penetration mastic, and existing concealed gutter systems. New installations will feature a Thermoplastic-Polyolefin (TPO) roofing system for flat roof areas, lightweight concrete tile roofing for sloped areas (matching existing architectural design and profile), and a new traditional gutter and downspout system. The project also entails repairing damaged roof deck and framing, installing new roof sheathing (5/8" and 1-1/8" plywood), and performing all necessary appurtenant work. Extensive regulations for asbestos abatement (including disposal per CAL/OSHA, EPA, and VCAPCD Rule 62.7), general construction, and site safety are required.
