General Project Description

This public works project entails the annual major streets rehabilitation program for Tapo Canyon Road (Township Avenue to Avenida Simi) in Simi Valley, CA. The comprehensive scope of work includes traffic control and maintenance, stormwater pollution control, construction surveying, arboricultural services (root pruning, root barrier installation, tree removal), cold milling of asphalt concrete pavement, sawcutting, removal, and reconstruction of Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) sidewalks, curb ramps, and truncated domes. It also involves crack treatment, construction of new asphalt concrete pavement (2 1/2" Type III -B2-PG 64 -10 AC), Type III microsurfacing, removal and replacement of sewer manhole frames, rings, and covers, and traffic signing and pavement delineation, including various thermoplastic markings and reflective markers. Additionally, the project requires the removal and reinstallation of traffic signal loops. The overall purpose is to improve the structural integrity and accessibility of the roadway infrastructure.
