General Project Description

The project involves the complete replacement of the traffic signal system at the intersection of California Avenue and Arroyo Drive, along with modifications to create a fully functional and safe signalized intersection for motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians. The work includes demolition, construction of new pedestrian walkways and curb-cuts at all four corners, construction of new medians on California Avenue, fence additions, coordination with SCE for meter installation, installation of power to existing transformers and electrical connections, traffic and pedestrian wayfinding signage and lighting, and landscape and irrigation enhancements. UCI will furnish signal poles, luminaires, shorting caps, IISNS for Illumencon engine with UCI Anteater Logos, Illumecon modules for IISNS, and IIIBF metered service pedestals (vendor items), which the contractor will be responsible for receiving, handling, storage, transportation, inspection, rigging, connecting, guarantees, and bonding. The contractor shall furnish and install all other items not provided by UCI. The project includes installation of new traffic signals, associated safety lighting, electrical systems, appurtenant signing, striping, concrete work, new asphalt pavement, medians, and sidewalks.
