General Project Description

This project involves the preparatory removal and replacement of failed asphalt pavement on 26 miles of major arterial roadways within the City of San José, prior to upcoming microsurfacing pavement maintenance. The scope includes asphalt concrete pavement remove and replace of varying depths, adjustment of existing utilities such as manholes, water valves, and monument boxes to grade, removal and replacement of traffic signal detector loops, and necessary striping work including double yellow stripes, 2-way left turn stripes, and traffic markings/legends. The project also requires traffic control measures including portable changeable message signs and reserve police officers, water pollution control, and removal of elevated pavement at the lip of the gutter.
