General Project Description

The project involves building the Acosta Operations Center to support live event broadcast production for the Big Ten Network's B1G+ digital platform. The scope includes interior demolition of six vacant offices (2,321 asf); construction of new interior partitions, doors, flooring, ceilings, and wall finishes; modifications to existing mechanical, electrical, fire sprinkler, and fire alarm systems; accessibility upgrades to two restrooms; and the installation and integration of a comprehensive broadcast system. This also involves installing a dedicated mechanical system for server heat loads, a double-interlock pre-action fire sprinkler system, and all necessary broadcast equipment (cameras, production consoles, editing machines, televisions, processors, and cabling). The project aims for a fully functional turn-key broadcasting system through integration, testing, and commissioning, and includes coordination for fiber optic cabling pathways to athletic venues.
